21 paddlers on the water this evening, low water, 780mm on the Gardiner water metre.
It was the last paddle of the year with a free hot dog sizzle for members and a prize for the best dressed.
There were many Christmas Santa hats and Hawaiian shirts but there was a clear winner, David Gardner decked his boat out with nothing less than a Christmas tree itself and wore a magnificent Christmas cardigan, check out the photos.
Tonight’s other winner was Joe Wilson who in a borrowed boat managed to get to within 3 seconds of his nominated time.
Tonight’s photo shows Judith Thompson presenting Joe Wilson with a CRCC cap.
Thankyou to everyone who helped the club have another great year.
We have next week (Boxing day) off and then there will be a paddle on Tuesday the 2nd of January for those wishing to start addressing the excesses of Christmas.
